Video & Social Content
Sensemaker supports saving and reading content from YouTube and Twitter/X alongside traditional articles and documents.
YouTube
Paste a YouTube URL into the save bar and Sensemaker will automatically:
- Extract the transcript — Full text of the video's captions, ready for highlighting and search
- Pull metadata — Title, channel name, duration, publish date, and thumbnail
- Embed the player — Watch the video directly in the Sensemaker reader
This means you can highlight passages from a video transcript, tag it, and have AI generate summaries — the same workflow as articles.

Twitter / X
Paste a tweet URL and Sensemaker will:
- Extract tweet text — The full text content of the tweet
- Pull metadata — Author handle, display name, post date
- Show engagement stats — Likes, retweets, and reply counts at time of save
Tweets are saved as library items, so they appear in search results, can be tagged, and are included in AI analysis alongside your other content.

Tips
- Thread support — For Twitter threads, save the first tweet; Sensemaker captures the full thread content where available.
- Transcript availability — YouTube transcript extraction depends on captions being available on the video. Videos without captions will still save with metadata but won't have searchable text content.
- AI features work — Both YouTube transcripts and tweet text are processed by AI features (summaries, auto-tagging, suggested highlights) if you have a subscription.
