Insights
The Insights page helps you see patterns in what you're reading. It combines tag-based theme analysis with AI-suggested highlights to surface connections across your library.
Theme Cards
The top of the Insights page shows theme cards — one for each tag in your library. Each card displays:
- Item count — How many articles are tagged with this topic
- Content type breakdown — Distribution of articles, PDFs, videos, podcasts, and other content types within the tag
Click a theme card to drill down into all items with that tag.
Cold Start
If your library has fewer than 5 items, the Insights page shows an onboarding prompt instead of theme cards. Save a few more articles to see your themes emerge.
AI-Suggested Highlights
Below the theme cards, subscribers see AI-suggested highlights — passages from across your library that Sensemaker's AI has identified as semantically connected.
Each suggestion shows:
- The highlighted passage
- The source article
- A connection type label (supports, extends, challenges, or new angle)
Working with Suggestions
- Accept — Converts the suggestion into a real highlight in your library
- Dismiss — Removes the suggestion from view
You can filter suggestions by status: pending, accepted, or dismissed.
How Connections Are Found
Sensemaker analyzes content across your library to find passages that relate to common themes. It's not keyword matching — the AI understands semantic meaning, so it can connect a passage about "network effects in social platforms" with one about "viral loops in consumer apps" even though they use different terminology.

Tips
- Tag consistently to get useful theme cards — the more organized your tags, the clearer the patterns
- Review suggested highlights weekly — they accumulate as you save more content
- Accept liberally — accepted suggestions become searchable highlights you can export to Obsidian or Markdown
