Feeds

Subscribe to RSS feeds and newsletters to have content flow into your Sensemaker library automatically.

RSS Feeds

Subscribing

  1. Go to the Feeds page
  2. Click Add Feed
  3. Paste the RSS feed URL
  4. Sensemaker fetches the feed metadata and imports recent items

New items from your feeds are automatically imported on a regular schedule (every few hours).

Managing Feeds

Each feed shows:

  • Feed title and description
  • Number of items imported
  • Last fetch time
  • Error status (if the feed is unreachable)

You can:

  • Refresh a feed manually to fetch new items immediately
  • Unsubscribe — choose whether to keep or delete already-imported articles
  • Toggle active/inactive — pause a feed without unsubscribing

Podcast Feeds

Sensemaker detects podcast RSS feeds automatically. Podcast episodes appear in your library with audio duration instead of reading time. Audio playback is available in the reader.

Newsletter Subscriptions

How It Works

  1. Go to the Feeds page and click Add Newsletter
  2. Sensemaker generates a unique email address (e.g., [email protected])
  3. Subscribe to the newsletter using this address, or forward existing newsletters to it
  4. Incoming emails are processed and appear as articles in your library

Managing Newsletters

Each newsletter subscription shows:

  • Sender name and email
  • Number of items received
  • Last received date
  • Status: active, pending confirmation, or unsubscribed

You can:

  • Unsubscribe — stop receiving and optionally delete past items
  • Delete the email address — removes the subscription and alias

Confirmation Emails

When you subscribe to a newsletter, you may receive a confirmation email. Sensemaker detects these automatically and routes them correctly — they won't pollute your library as articles.

Auto-Tagging for Feeds

Sensemaker can automatically tag content from feeds:

  • Auto-tag by source — Tags items by content type (article, PDF, podcast, etc.)
  • Auto-tag newsletters — Tags newsletter items by the sender's name

Both can be toggled in Settings and work without a subscription.
